There’s lots of good stuff on www.PsychologyToday.com, one of which is a worthy and thought-provoking piece.
Here ya go:
- Honest friends speak openly from the heart.
- Dependable friends do what they say they will and are willing to stand up for you.
- Loyal friends don’t spill secrets or stand for unfair criticism of people they care about.
- Trusting friends are comfortable with vulnerability.
- Empathetic friends can recognize how someone is feeling and respond accordingly.
- Non-judgmental friends can accept choices they disagree with.
- Good listeners enable sharing of thoughts/feelings
- Friends who see the humor in life help us deal with the curveballs life tosses at us.
I couldn’t agree more. The challenges, for many men, are found in words like:
-from the heart
-vulnerability
-non-judgmental
-thoughts/feelings
These are ‘muscles’ many men have stopped working and training, allowing them to lose their power.
