As a Financial Life Planner, the work of Abraham Maslow played a very important role in shaping my approach. His model, the Hierarchy of Needs, illustrates a pyramid of human needs that evolve as we mature and as our circumstances provide greater stability and financial security.

Each level brings us a richer, fuller life. The top of the pyramid, self-actualization, can be generally understood as “the full realization of one’s creative, intellectual, and social potential through internal drive” (Selva, J., 2017, PositivePsychology.com).
