Of self-doubt, self-aggression and self-pity

By May 26, 2020 No Comments

The first is ok…we’re allowed to doubt our capabilities, our abilities, our knowledge. It’s actually a good way of testing ourselves and what we know or believe.

Self-aggression—the act of beating yourself up—is not ok!

Self-pity also falls into the category of a no-no. While everyone might take some time to visit, it’s clearly not a destination.

Living through unknown and challenging times can lead to a triumvirate of all three. Try and hold on to the fact that no one has the answers and no one was prepared for this.

Doubt yourself? Sure. Use your doubt to ask questions, learn, grow and adapt.

Feel a bit of self-pity? You’re human…who hasn’t from time to time asked, ‘why me?’

But avoid—at all costs—beating yourself up for how you feel. It is a path to despair and misery and no one deserves that.

Stay strong! Stay safe!

Focus on what you can control.
