Nothing is static unless you have been encased in amber. We evolve from infancy—from incapable humans to educated, able and responsible adults.
Just as we learn to crawl then walk, so too are we able to learn, grow and become more today than we were yesterday.
That capacity doesn’t end when we leave our work lives—nor should it. While our focus shifts from accumulating wealth, raising a family and achieving recognition in our careers, we still must look forward to find ways to continue to evolve.
As you ponder this, consider in what ways you are able to make a difference in the world, not just for yourself, but as a model for your children and grandchildren. It’s a widening of the focus from your own wants and needs of your work life to a more global perspective.
