I am not a big TV watcher.
Not that there aren’t some great programs. For me, it’s most likely about my attention span at the end of the day.
But I did recently watch the documentary on Netflix entitled “The Minimalists: Less is Now.” It was wonderful—and almost certain to hit a nerve in many people.
Our consumerist society is addicted to the accumulation of STUFF. This program is aimed at the center bullseye of this condition.
My reaction was to start with my clothes. I am creating a list of reasonable needs. For example, how many freaking tee-shirts do I really need? How many pairs of socks or jeans?
My goal is to quantify a reasonable number and eject everything beyond that. I can make a drop off at Goodwill or another organization, so they can get these items into the hands of those who could really use them.
Give it a watch and let me know your thoughts.
