I’ve held countless discussions with clients about their transition into life after work. The big questions are typical, “How long will my nest egg last?” Then the question inevitably comes to:
“What can I do with my resources? What’s possible?”
In keeping with my heritage, I never answer a question with an answer. After all, asking another question is important since the client is the one with the real answers.
So here are samples of my responses:
“What do you want?”
“What is important to you and your family?”
“Who is affected by your decisions?”
“What will give you a reason to get out of bed in the morning?”
“How do you want to be remembered?”
“What do you care about?”
“What would bring you joy?”
“What would you like to explore?”
“What are you curious about?”
“Who did you always want to be?”
“Can you imagine what would be fun, interesting, and meaningful?”
You get the picture….so…what’s possible for you?
