Meaning

MACRO and micro

By May 11, 2021 No Comments

I’ve been devoting a lot of time lately thinking and planning my transition. As is my process, I tend to start with the big picture and then down to the details. When I say macro, I mean BIG picture. Here’s an example:

What do I want for the world?

Clean environment

Fairness

Peace

Financial Security

Health

You have to admit, those are pretty macro issues, right?

Then I move to the more micro aspects, such as:

How can I make a difference and contribute to these issues?

I can make sure that I recycle and buy goods that are reusable.

I can look for opportunities to teach, mentor or volunteer causes that aide fairness, and financial security

I can contribute to causes that support social justice

I can buy food from sustainable farms and promote good nutrition

I am not very far along in the specifics, but I have the bones and will keep you updated as I make progress. I want a life that is rich in the areas I value; my family, friends and leaving the world better than I found it (I am a child of the 60’s after all).
