Last year, I submitted a saliva sample to a company that analyzes DNA to track your genetic history. While I already knew that my family roots were embedded in Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Germany and Romania), the results stunned me.
Both of my parents’ genetics began in Africa from different locations. From there, one path went from the Middle East to India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Japan and China. The other path went to the Middle East, then onto Europe (especially Italy), and then South America and Mexico. It all led back to Eastern Europe where I thought the story began. How wrong I was!
If this information is accurate, my genetics are African, Asian, South and Central American and European. My guess is, I am far from unique in my roots and just reverberates the idea that we ARE all one….
If only we could live that way.
