Say the following words out loud. Say them slowly and with focus.

Complacency, inertia, apathy, lethargy.

Notice how those words feel in your mind and body.

If you don’t notice anything, say them again.

 

Take a breath or two and clear your mind.

Now do the same for this set of words:

Active, purposeful, engage, excited.

Now notice how you feel after repeating these words.

Any difference?

 

Words are powerful; they connect with our bodies and reflect our feelings and attitudes.

Be aware of the words you use and try to use words that empower and support.
