Where does motivation come from?
As a child, my motivation came from fear or the desire to please.
As a teen, my motivation came from fear or the desire to achieve.
As an adult in the workforce, my motivation came from fear and the need to support my family.
So where does motivation fit in during Chapter X?
Is it fear of mental and physical deterioration, of illness and loss of cognition?
Is it a burning desire to make a difference in the world, in your community or in your family?
Fear is a powerful motivator—but it’s not the only one. Maybe it’s good enough to get you out of bed in the morning. Or it might be sufficient to get you to exercise. Perhaps fear moves you to learn new things or join a community.
Or perhaps, it’s not a factor for you at all.
What motivates you and what factors determine your actions?
