BE There

By December 27, 2022 No Comments

It’s not hard to notice that we’re in the throes of another health crisis.

Hospital beds are filled with patients suffering from COVID, flu, and RSV (especially for children). According to a friend, who runs the pediatric unit at a nearby hospital, the Intensive Care Units are also filled. I’ve spoken with others dealing with illnesses (both themselves and their family members). It’s not pretty.

For the most part, we can mask up and stay home to protect ourselves as much as possible. We can, and indeed must, take the time to support others who are dealing with challenges. We need to step in even if we’re uncomfortable with reaching out, picking up the phone and offering support.

That’s how we show our humanity. That’s how we create community. That’s how we bring people together.

As we move through the sometimes stressful holiday period, remember those who are struggling and BE there for them in any way possible.
