A Burr In Your Sock

By December 31, 2022 No Comments

I have no idea what brought back the recollection of being a youngster trekking through the nearby woods.

But I remember walking home with the insistent pangs of burrs sticking to my socks, pants, and shirt. As much as I tried to remove them, another sharp zap would tell me that I hadn’t found them all. Yet each prickly piece I plucked off reminded me of the fun of the day—the freedom I enjoyed walking over fallen logs, sitting by the nearby stream, and exploring the area.

As the year wanes and we enter 2023, I wish you all a burr. I hope it will serve as a reminder:

  • To live your best life
  • To grace others with your love and care
  • To allow yourself to be enjoy the love and care of others
  • To focus on self-care and health
  • To share your wisdom and experience
  • To help make the world better
  • To appreciate all you’ve accomplished
  • To hold gratitude in your hearts
  • To let go of grudges and senseless negative feelings
  • To enjoy the ability to “be” rather than to “do”
  • To express yourself fully with courage
  • To continue to learn and grow
  • To find meaning and joy in small things
  • To be at peace with yourself
