Have you ever experienced a time when nothing seems to flow? You know, those times when finding a pathway to feeling on track seems nearly impossible. I certainly know that feeling—it’s a battle I face regularly. I find myself in a constant struggle, trying to determine where to direct my energy and focus. The result is typically feeling stuck until I map out my next steps.
Recently, I came back from a writer’s conference, inspired and excited to get my writing back on track. But as I glance at my calendar, I notice the upcoming resumption of the two adult bands I used to play with before the summer break. With all my travels (not that I’m complaining), my practice routine has been left in the dust. So here I am, needing to get back to playing music while also wanting to devote more time to my writing alongside my other commitments.
The questions in my mind are: What do I really want? What do I really need? And how am I going to manage it all? My internal GPS is on the fritz.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed?
