Have you ever thought of doing something and then dismissed the idea as simply fanciful? Okay, so you might not be able to become a pro athlete or an astronaut. Maybe you’re not qualified to join the military or become a firefighter. I’m sure there are other activities with age restrictions, but aside from those select items, what can’t you try?
How much time do you spend believing in the limitations you’ve put on yourself?
Personally, I am a big fan of trying new things simply for the experience. After all, I have nothing to prove to anyone, except perhaps trying to show my kids that it’s important to keep learning, trying new things, and courageously moving outside of my comfort zone.
I know some believe that life after a career should be ALL ABOUT staying in the comfort zone. I couldn’t disagree more. When you spot those annoying self-imposed limitations, use them to spark your determination to move beyond those erroneous thoughts.
