Whether you get your news from hard copy newspapers, digitally or on TV, headlines are prominent. They’re intentionally created to draw your eye for further investigation. Of course, I was thinking about this the other day and decided to experiment with making a daily headline for myself.
My goal is to focus on the big theme for the day. For example, yesterday, I knew that I had a trumpet lesson at 1pm and would need to warm up before my instructor arrived. I had a few items on my practice sheet that needed review.
My headline for the day was:
Breathe-Focus-Play: Let There Be Music!
Today, I am accompanying my wife to NYC for her medical checkup. My headline for the day:
Breathe-Focus-Drive: Don’t Let the Traffic Make You Nuts
These little headlines serve as reminders of how I want to set my thinking, intention and state of mind.
I’m interested to see how doing this daily impacts my mood, focus and the flow of my day.
Maybe give this a try and see if it has an impact on your day.
