A Deeper Dive in the Lost and Found

By November 22, 2025 No Comments

My November 1 blog, “Lost and Found,” sparked many comments from readers. I always appreciate the feedback (positive or negative), but these comments seemed different. They suggested I go deeper and perhaps make this a topic of exploration at an upcoming Chapter X get-together.

As I ponder the idea of a “Lost and Found,” I, like many of the commenters, seem to focus on what I’ve lost over the years. That seems natural, since it’s clear to see the diminishment of certain physical abilities.

But what might be found on the shelves of our past memories and experiences?

I find many moments when I needed resilience to carry me from failure to success.

I find the times I had to learn something new.

I find my ability to bring people together for a common cause.

I find the excitement I experienced when I watched my children grow into wonderful adults.

I find the laughter my wife and I shared as we navigated life together in our younger years.

I find my resolve to spend more time outside my comfort zone and how it changed my life over and over again.

There’s a lot to discover in your personal “Lost and Found.” I’d love to hear more about what you find.
