Meaning

An Observation

I’m sitting in the airport lounge, waiting for the flight back to NJ. We had a wonderful visit with our son, daughter-in-law and our granddaughter. Looking around the area, I see people bent over laptops vigorously working and here I sit, a “use-to-be”.

There was a moment when I felt a tinge of sadness, reflecting on my life spent glued to the screen, answering emails, speaking with clients and working on plans.

Without a doubt, I know I am satisfied with my life now and grateful to be in this stage of life–healthy, unencumbered by the demands of work. I tip my proverbial cap to all the men and women around me and wish them the joy of a full life and a next Chapter of exploration, fun and meaning.

The fleeting pang of my past life serves as a reminder of the love I had for my work and my commitment to helping others. However, now I have the opportunity to channel that passion in another way while digging deeper into new discoveries and ways of making a positive impact.
