One of my favorite movies is Breaking Away. It was released in 1979 and features a very young Dennis Quaid, Dennis Christopher, Daniel Stern, and Jackie Earle Haley. The story follows a group of high school kids from Bloomington, Illinois, trying to figure out their place in the world.
The film is a great depiction of the inner and outer conflicts that come with transitioning into a new version of yourself. It’s not so different from Chapter X, where we must examine who we are, decide whether staying the same is either desirable or even possible, and determine what we need to do to overcome challenges in order to evolve.
If you’ve never seen it, or haven’t watched it in a while, check it out and let me know what you take away.
