Carl Schecter sent me this, from Dante’s Inferno:
Midway upon the journey of our life,
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
How did he know? We are all on a journey, whether of our own making or pre-designed. Our choices remain in front of us. Through the joys and sorrows, the confusion and clarity, the next steps are best taken with positive expectancy and an openness to the realities that reside in our ‘dark forests’.
It isn’t straightforward. No crystal ball will show you any other outcome except our own mortality. But the time between now and then is ours to walk.
