Lately, I started some physical therapy to help heal some issue with my lower legs. I’ve lived with the pain for months and after a consultation with my doctor, PT was recommended.
I’ve made an acceptance, if not friends, with the nightly jolts of pain whenever I shift positions.
Pain can be a good teacher. Sometimes it reveals our willingness and ability to surrender, to care for ourselves appropriately, while intently avoiding self-pity.
We can observe our discomfort or immerse ourselves in it. We can be our pain—or carry it as a reminder of our human-ness.
