Life is so full of unknowns and there are very few guarantees save that, one day, our lives will end.
The choices we’ve made and the choices we make will, in many ways, determine how happy we will spend our remaining days. I think of this in terms of how we live and what aids us in living a joyful existence.
Here are some examples:
If you lift weights (resistance training), your muscles support your body in all its activities–from getting off the chair to the ability to participate in activities that require strength, stability, and mobility.
If you choose not to engage in this, the outcomes are likely to be unfavorable.
If you eat healthy foods and avoid sugar and highly processed foods, your brain and body are more likely to work efficiently and fight off disease.
If you’re a fast food junkie, or eat a lot of food that contains sugar and processed foods, your body is less likely to be able to work correctly and fight off illness.
If you connect with others in meaningful ways, you will most likely be happier and more fulfilled.
If you live a solitary life without meaningful social connections, your life is likely less satisfying and more likely to end sooner than those who do.
We all have choices to make: do the math.
