The other day I wrote about the shift in perspective at my disappointment of not having a clear Berkshire sky to bathe me in starlight. In case you missed it, I noted that while I didn’t get to experience a breath-taking star show, I did hear the soothing sound of rain—and its hypnotic pattering changed my state.
While I still hold dearly to the music of the rain, the skies cleared on our last night there and the show was suddenly on. I stood beneath the dome of stars and planets that glowed, feasting on the immense beauty. There’s something about this experience that brings out the insignificance of ourselves in the scope of the Universe. Our sub-micron level beings within that broad vista are frighteningly humbling. We are specks.
Yet we are powerful, impactful and amazing creatures, capable of so much good (or bad). We can change the world by helping others. We can make a difference by offering ourselves in service to those in need. Our mission is clear—look beyond ourselves, once we can do so.
The Berkshire sky puts on an awesome show. To me, it is an inspiration to look inward to my heart and send it outward to the benefit of others. To me, it was a FTW moment!
