Garbage in—garbage out

My first and only class in computer programming happened in 1975. I was a junior in college and the professor, holding a handful of IBM punch cards in his hand told the class that GIGO was the watchword of success in computing.

If you don’t create the program correctly—you don’t punch every card correctly—the result will be garbage and it’s back to square one. It was fair warning and it was quite the challenge, as my lab partner and I created our fair share of garbage.

The same is true for the food we eat. How can we expect to be healthy if we are stuffing ourselves with over processed foods, loaded with refined sugars, bad fats, genetically modified ingredients sourced from soil that is devoid of nutrients?

The answer is simple: it’s not possible.

As we age, our bodies become inundated with chemicals and fake foods that are grown on industrial farms. It has been proven that these foods are direct causes of diabetes, cancer and other inflammatory diseases.

If you want to live healthfully for as long as possible—start with what you put in your body.

Here’s to good health!
