I was listening to music the other day, as I often do. While I admittedly am not the biggest Springsteen fan, there are many of his songs that I really love. (Please don’t tell anyone that I just said that. I wouldn’t want to be thrown out of New Jersey for such sacrilege.)
When the first strains of Glory Days hit my ears, it made me smile—great song! The lyrics talk about lost glory, and it made me think. Has the best passed us by? Was everything good in the past? While I can look back to moments and victories along the way, I choose to focus on the present and finding the “glory” now.
The final verse says, “Well, the time slips away and leaves you with nothing, mister, but boring stories of Glory Days.”
Isn’t it better to make every day your glory day?
