We spent a week with our kids and grandchildren in the Berkshires and had a blast. We spent time at the lake, walking in nature, and blueberry picking. One important stop was SoCo, a local ice cream shop in Great Barrington.
The walls were covered with 3×5 cards, each containing a writing prompt to be filled out by whoever wished. The prompts were:
- My greatest desire is…
- I wish I had the courage to…
- I will always remember…
Those who filled in a card offered a wide range of thoughts and ideas. I could have spent an hour reading them all, but the 2-year-old and 4-year-old wouldn’t allow it. The 8-year-old, however, pulled a card and filled it in with her private thoughts.
I’ve pondered these questions; they’re thought-provoking, and I could probably devote an afternoon writing up my thoughts about each one.
