Letting go

I admit it, I’ve been on a binge.

No, I haven’t fallen back into depraved eating habits. I haven’t locked myself in a room with Netflix and a bag of popcorn. I haven’t begun drinking large quantities of alcohol either.

I am alleviating myself of STUFF.

I’ve even made a new friend at 1-800-GOT-JUNK! The attic is now empty of piles I’ve known for years must go, but I just haven’t gotten to it for one reason or another. I’ve had my garage emptied and relegated those piles of stuff to the trashcan. I’ve even had the space painted and had new shelves built so I can actually see what’s there.

I’ve also begun to unload the idea that I actually know what the next phase of life will look like. I’m letting go of the notion that it all has to be planned out, which is no small feat for someone whose sole work purpose is to help others plan.

Letting go is freedom.

Letting go is simplicity.

Letting go is living in integrity by not carrying unnecessary stuff with you—be it boxes of books you will never read again or thoughts, beliefs or ideas that are no longer of use as you look ahead.

What can you let go of?
