he human body is miraculous. When it functions optimally, everything feels in sync. When something’s “off,” our body sends us a message to let us know. Sometimes, the message manifests as aches or a feeling of unease. While it’s easy to brush it off as nothing, that might be the wrong course of action.
During my three-mile hike this morning, I noticed my muscles felt tense and tight as I navigated uneven terrain. It served as a reminder that I might be spending too much time lifting weights and not enough time devoted to yoga. I know how different my body feels when my yoga practice is more ingrained in my routine.
It’s a clear indication that I need to make a simple course correction and take action to rebalance my activities.
Sometimes the messages come in the form of feeling emotionally down or a general sense of malaise. It’s important not to dismiss these messages but instead view them as signals to pay attention and address what is necessary to lift the heavy veil.
I have started taking “inventory” of both my physical and emotional well-being, actively listening to any messages that are nudging me towards making adjustments.
What messages are you getting and are you listening?
