I am an unabashedly crazed Foo Fighters fan.
Yes, I have traveled to far-flung venues on multiple occasions to see Dave and the guys deliver incredible performances.
One of their songs, “One of These Days” features the following lyrics:
One of these days, the ground will drop out from beneath your feet.
One of these days, your heart will stop and play its final beat.
One of these days, the clocks will stop and time won’t mean a thing.
While I sincerely hope the ground will not drop from beneath my feet (after all I don’t live too close to active fault lines), the rest is pretty reasonable. We’re all on a timeline that has an expiration date sometime between now and many years from now.
If we acknowledge this as fact, and I certainly hope your grip on reality is strong enough to do so, now is a pretty good time to take stock of what’s important to you.
Is it your job title?
Is it your occupation?
Is it narrow and specific?
Is it aimed at your family unit?
Is it spread to encompass a more global perspective?
How are you putting your heart-felt desires into action?
I want to hear your thoughts. Remember, one of these days…
