For many, the time of raising a family, engaging in one’s profession and building financial security doesn’t typically coincide with quiet, inner peace or introspection. Add on the conflagration of busyness, the news, social media and other distractions.
I don’t know about you, but for me, the noise can be overwhelming.
During my coaching training, there is an 8-week program devoted to mindfulness and building (or for me, rebuilding) an inner practice of meditation. It is the calm in the storm, the foundation of peacefulness and resourced clear thinking.
I battle the “busy mind” constantly. For me, meditation is a practice of observing the thoughts and like watching a cloud, letting them go.
Here are a couple of links to YouTube videos to introduce you to some of these concepts around the practice, including Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD and a TedX talk with neuroscientist Sara Lazar.

If you’ve never had a meditation practice, give them a watch and let me know what you think.
If you do have a meditation practice, please share your thoughts and what resources you might use or are aware of.
Here’s to living a life with a peaceful and less noisy brain!
