I think part of the challenge of transitioning to life after a career is allowing yourself the opportunity to rediscover who you were before you became YOU (the adult you).
Were you a serious kid or more of a funny, playful sort? Were you curious about things like nature, history, art, or music?
Were you the class clown, entertaining others with your sense of humor?
Did you spend time daydreaming?
How did you spend your summers?
What interested you?
What were you passionate about?
It’s all too easy to hold onto the mantle you wore throughout your adult life, but have you considered wrapping yourself in a new or rediscovered version of you… one that isn’t just a reflection of your working persona?
There are so many opportunities to explore, excavate, and uncover.
But our allotted time isn’t endless. Is there some germ of an idea that’s worthy of consideration? What are you waiting for?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
