It’s just human nature to run with the herd. We naturally want to be in the majority, doing what everyone does.
We don’t want to subject ourselves to the judgment of others; in fact, most of us devote the greatest part of our lives making decisions that avoid subjecting ourselves to such imagined criticism.
The fact is, it’s all in our heads. Most people are so self-absorbed and self-conscious of what other people are thinking that they don’t have the time or energy or desire to think about you. Sorry.
If it is the fear of others’ judgments that keep you in check, consider what you might have done or what you might do if that were not a consideration.
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Running with the herd is comfortable. But it’s ok to break free and try new things. Who knows, maybe you’ll start a new herd…
This is the time of life when worrying about what others are thinking or judging should not matter. After all, it is YOUR life, not theirs.
