I have never been, nor will I ever be a runner. My body is just not built for it.
Even as a teenager when I played freshman football, I was always the last one to cross the finish line in the sprints. In gym class, I was always the last one around the track. Running is a curse to my happiness.
That being said, I came across an unattributed quote and thought it was worthy and relevant (even though it made my legs ache just thinking about it).
“The finish line is just the beginning of a whole new race.”
Put in the context of Chapter X, you can see the point. Each life stage presents new challenges and opportunities for growth.
Do you eagerly dash from the starting line? Or hang back and reluctantly put one foot in front of the other? Or do you petulantly refuse to enter the race?
The fact is, each new lap of your journey is happening, whether you like it or not. Why not break out with passion and determination?
My aching knees say no, but my brain says, “of course, bring it on!”
