My three-year-old granddaughter placed the scanning thermometer to her head and pushed the button. After the beep, she turned it around to show me her temperature.
I was really impressed with her ability and dexterity, and only the fact that we were on FaceTime prevented me from covering her with hugs and kisses.
I told my wife how impressed I was and mentioned that I didn’t remember the other two girls doing that at the same age. Little moments like that have a way of sparking bigger thoughts for me, and this one did too.
It occurs to me that it’s important to take one’s temperature regularly (no thermometer required).
In other words, it’s worth pausing to assess where you are in terms of your life. I am referring to things like your health, finances, socialization, learning, family, and home.
Ask yourself how you would rate your level of satisfaction in the various facets of your life. What’s working well and what needs attention?
Celebrate the former and focus on the latter.
