At our last Zoom get together, one of the members of the community noted something remarkable. Since COVID began, he’s been grounded into a home-based routine with less distractions and has started to notice things previously gone unnoticed. He used the example of some birds nesting near his home that were quite striking.
His challenge to the group was: to notice something new and see it with more awareness.
After a recent snowstorm, I watched the snow melting off the roof forming prodigious icicles. I watched the water drip down the sides, the ice formations gaining length and width, and the wonderful shapes and sizes of each.
It was beautiful to watch.
