As the summer wanes, I’m turning my attention to autumn and the change of seasons. I look forward to rejoining the adult jazz ensembles and continuing my music studies.
The prospect of walking through the forest, surrounded by a blanket of red, orange, and yellow leaves, fills me with anticipation. I am also looking forward to re-establishing a consistent workout schedule (that was trashed during summer travels) and quality time with my family.
While I know that there are challenges ahead—because there are ALWAYS challenges—I try to keep my eyes on what is in front of me, season to season. I hold onto the hope that nothing dire will shift and create chaos. But as the old saying goes, “Man plans and god laughs,” so my best bet is to keep planning focused on the short term.
How do you see it? What’s your process?
