You’re going to die—in fact, we’re all going to die!
If you take a moment or two to ponder this, consider the following:
What will you regret?
What are you leaving behind?
Thinking about one’s own demise is not a happy thought. But it certainly can be one that helps you focus your energy on what matters.
You’ve heard the quote that no one on their deathbed ever wishes they spent more time in the office. While it’s true, we too often blow it off, because thinking about it might make us uncomfortable.
So what’s so bad about being uncomfortable? Discomfort provides the food for our growth if we allow it to fuel deep and meaningful thoughts.
In a recent chat with Sociologist and Writer, Stefania Medetti (wait until you hear her on my podcast) she offered some great advice, which I paraphrase: Build your pyramid so that you leave something you value behind. It isn’t about things. It isn’t about money.
Her comments resonate so deeply. One of the missions of Chapter X is to help you channel your thoughts and actions towards living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
We’re all going to die. Why not devote your time and energy to making a difference, reducing or eliminating regret and building a wonderful pyramid?
