Scorekeeping

By May 26, 2026 No Comments

During our working life, scorekeeping is part of the “game,” measuring success by financial goals or promotions achieved. During Chapter X, it’s still important to keep score, but the prize is different.

I keep my purpose (goals) front and center. Health, time with family and friends, creative pursuits, areas of curiosity, and time to just “be” are at the top of my list. I track my health carefully and am acutely aware of how I devote my energy.

I assess what’s working and what’s not using the “Retirement Wheel of Life” that I previously shared with you here (and that’s included in How to Craft Your Chapter X). I rate different areas of my life based on my level of satisfaction.

For me, a graphic representation of these aspects helps me focus on areas that might need extra attention or simply take a moment to feel gratitude for what brings me great satisfaction.

Do you keep score? If so, what do you track?

Do you use a tool? Is it written down?

If you don’t keep track or score, share your thoughts on that decision. Curious minds want to know!
