Have you ever come to a problem that seemed as if there was no good solution?
Your will might tempt you to keep hitting the wall in hopes of breaking through. You might hit it over and over again because, well, it’s your way.
The other day, a friend was bemoaning the fact that he’s gained back five pounds of the 20 he’d recently taken off.
I asked him if he could point to the cause, knowing that being forced to stay home was a formula for disaster when it comes to habits around eating and staying active.
He told me that, as a classic “grazer” he can’t walk past the snacks without stopping for a fistful. (I nodded to myself, since I know it well).
He further told me that eliminating these foods from the house would be nearly impossible since it would cause a riot between his two sons.
I offered him a few ideas.
First—stay out of the kitchen.
Second—move the snacks out of your path of destruction.
The first wasn’t happening, but the second, with a little creativity and cooperation, was fully doable.
Yay! The reality is, you can keep banging your head against the brick wall with the knowledge that it feels soooooo good when you stop.
We all need support and help.
Don’t hesitate to ask.
