On a walk recently, I passed a home in obvious disrepair. I looked at the house and two thoughts came crashing through my consciousness.
First, I wondered how the property owners could allow their home to fall into such a state. THEN, the second idea came crashing into my brain. I wondered what problems, difficulties and stresses these folks were dealing with. I wondered if they were able to make ends meet and whether they were dealing with health problems.
The lenses we look through bring us to judgments and conclusions that may or may not be true.
When dealing with any situation, do you ever ask yourself whether there is another way of looking at it? Another conclusion that might be true? It’s our job—if we are to grow and show others the way—to question our judgments and conclusions.
Cheers,
Michael
