Waging a War Against Entropy

By April 4, 2026 No Comments

Comfort can be highly overrated. I’m not talking about the clothes you wear or the bed you sleep in. I’m not referring to the types of food you eat or even the structure of your daily life.

I’m talking about a different kind of comfort. The state where nothing changes. Where no growth occurs, nothing new is learned, and both your mind and body begin to fall into entropy.

Think about your body. If you don’t nourish it, move it, and allow it to rest, it declines. Without some level of “stressing” your system to maintain or build strength, that decline is inevitable.

The same is true for your mind and your life. Without purpose (however you define it) to challenge your thinking (aka “using your mind”), without meaningful relationships or a sense of structure to your days, entropy takes hold.

If you’re feeling confused, stuck, or in a bad place, it may be a sign that you’ve been sitting in that kind of comfort for too long. It’s time to take control of your life. Get help if you can’t see a way forward. Take small steps forward. Try something new that might be interesting or fun. Remember, there is no risk in trying something.

There are two choices here: move forward or move backward.
